Nike KD VI "What the KD" Release Date

KD’S JOURNEY

Kevin Durant’s ascension to one of the world’s top athletes comes as no surprise to Nike Basketball, who signed Durant in 2007. His relentless work ethic, humility and drive to be the best never waver. His journey inspired the KD VI shoe, originally launched with an event at Durant’s childhood rec center, the Seat Pleasant Activity Center, which he still views as his home away from home. The new KD VI “What The KD” melds 35 graphics and colors from all the past KD VI colorways. From the Maryland blue crab-inspired Swoosh, to the floral graphic of his late Aunt Pearl’s robe, this new shoe captures KD’s personal stories all in one.

Nike Basketball delivers game-changing innovation and inspiration to athletes worldwide and the 2014 “What The” versions of the LEBRON 11 and KD VI are living proof. Like artwork, the bold irreverence of each shoe illustrates that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and always open for interpretation.

The LEBRON 11 ‘What The LeBron’ is available globally on May 31 and the KD VI ‘What The KD’ is out June 7. Matching t-shirts are also available.

Kevin Durant may not have been named this year's NBA MVP, but Nike is still hitting us with the Nike KD V "What the KD" and now we have a release date to share with you. The colors featured in the shoe are similar to the KD V "Nerf" kicks, but in more of a tribal disfigured pattern. Nike has confirmed they will not be selling the shoes online so you'll have to get them at a store near you, but be sure to keep it locked to FollowTheKicks for more sneaker news and updates.
